Robotic System Details

LBTI is a leading manufacturer in robotic blast equipment in North America supplying all industries including medical, aerospace, mining, automotive and commercial.

We integrate high-end robotics seamlessly into the blast equipment for not only part loading/unloading, but also for carrying out the blasting process.

Utilizing highly accurate motion control to interact with robot movement for high precision repeatability, LBTI have robot units control; blasting, peening, peen forming, loading, unloading and part manipulation.

The robotics run interpolated motion with a range of other axes including OD & ID nozzle manipulators, work doors, work cars and work tables.

With a host of purposes, LBTI have integrated robotic solutions for "pick and place" used for loading and unloading equipment, "peen forming" for aerospace, peening for automotive and aerospace, blasting and part manipulation used specifically for presenting the part to a blast stream (multiple delivery methods including wheel blast).

LBTI have electrical designers with areas of expertise in all brands of robot manufacturers to ensure that your company always has the support you need when you need it.

Mirrored peening techniques have been utilized by LBTI in a number of industries including mining, medical, automotive and aerospace. This is where two robot units carry out a process in an equal and opposite manner. The advantages of a mirrored process are increased productivity, but most importantly the reduced risk of deformation of the part being blasted. LBTI have used these techniques for peening turbine blades, mining cathodes and engine foils. While applying the forces to both sides of the part, the potential deformation to either side of the part being blasted in mitigated.
